NSBC: Mint Generation One -> 1.3 – “Baby Maybe?”

Amie and Akira had agreed that if they got pregnant they wouldn’t mind so they stopped using protection as they wanted to let it happen if it was going to. The two of them were very happy together and started to really look forward to the possibility of a new baby arriving and moving on with the baby in their new chapter of family life. However, after some time not using any protection and regularly being intimate between their busy work lives, the pair began to wonder what might be going on. So Amie decided to go to the doctors and check on her fertility. After the examination, Amie found out for her the chances of conceiving were between 5% and 25%. This wasn’t the greatest percentage odds, and Akira also offered to get tested for his fertility to see if he was also contributing to their troubles, but she was confident it was the low fertility on her side and wanted to address that before anything. The doctor did help Amie by giving her a way to track her periods to determine when the best time to try to get pregnant was. It turned out the next few days after her doctor’s appointment were going to be the optimal time to try for a baby.

“Akira, according to the app the doctor gave me to track my fertility the optimum time to try coming up is actually the next few days after today,” Amie explained to Akira over dinner that night after her appointment.

“Well, I’ll just have to take tomorrow off and then Winterfest is the next day so we’ll both have it off. Do you think you can take the day off?”

“Yes, I have some vacation days set aside. We’ll make a day of it!” Amie smiled and was excited but knew Akira was even more excited because he had always seemed more interested in kids than she was but she still wanted a baby.

Akira smiled back and said, “Awesome! Will do!”

While going through all this the progress in Amie’s career was still on track and going very well, along with her collection of crystals and metal that she can turn into elements to complete the elements collection. Akira is doing pretty well in his tech career too.

Amie and Akira went to sleep that night very excited for the future again because they felt more hopeful about expanding their family now.

NSBC: Mint Generation -> 1.2 – Moving Up and Moving In

Amie was doing very well with her career already but she was still a little impatient about getting into more of the advanced science stuff instead of mostly plain lab work. Although she did get to invent two devices so far. So she was moving up in her scientist career and still as motivated as ever to reach higher levels. Even with that focus, she had become a little distracted by a certain sim she meet the recently. Akira was tugging at her mind when she was trying to focus soley on advancement at work but both she and Akira felt there was something there that they had to explore. Amie decided to work extra hard while she was at the lab and block Akira, or try, from her mind during the work day. When they both had time off they would hang out. The two of them also checked out the mountain area on a date where Amie hoped to start snowboarding and skiing soon. Akira was willing to try that with her too which she was happy about. For now they used the mountain neighborhood’s hot springs and relaxed and got to know each other even more. Akira became quiet for a while and seemed to have something on his mind.

Amie noticed Akira turn to her and he started speaking, “Amie, I think I would like to be exclusive. How do you feel about it?”

“Akira, I would love to be exclusive. Yes.” They both were beaming the rest of the date.

Something else was creeping in on her too. The feeling that she might need more than her career, as much as she loved it, to have a whole life, was forming, and Akira was such a good guy. Her biological clock might have been activated but she worried it was too early still. Then again if she was feeling prepared she figured she would just go with the flow for now because she was ready for whatever might happen.

More specifically on the challenge front Amie has managed to move closer to her aspiration completion and has one person dislike her already and workng on another at the lab. She even used her freeze ray on them. The elements collection has a few more elements added in the display table. Amie has also been improving on her logic skill as well. Caleb wasn’t too happy about it but it didn’t make them that much closer to being in the dislike ballpark. She will have to keep working on it. With Akira a good prospect for having an heir for the next generation, we might be close to giving birth to the possible generation 2 rose baby.

Amie and Akira continued to see each other on a regular basis and work life was still going strong, especially now that she learned to separate her work and her personal life more. Then one day, Akira asked Amie over unexpectantly.

“I have something I need to ask you. I understand if you don’t feel ready to, but I was wondering if I could move in with you?” Akira asked with a hopeful smile on his lips.

“I would like that very much,” Amie replied, smiling back.

And so the two moved in together and Amie felt like she could focus even more on her work because she would get a little jealous if Akira wasn’t with her and now he was around a lot more. (Akira has the jealous trait too!) Shortly after moving in they got a little wild and may have forgot something but had a memorable first time. Amie and Akira were both nervous about getting carried away but Akira wants children and Amie wants to carry on her legacy so it could turn out ok even if it is slightly early in their lives. They decided to have a talk about it to see if they were on the same page.

“To be honest Akira, I’m a little worried about how we got caught up in it last night. I do want kids but I just don’t know about this soon. I wanted to be further in my career and maybe you did too? What are you thinking?”

“Amie, I have always wanted children so if it happens I wouldn’t be upset. But I wouldn’t want you to be upset by it.”

“I don’t think I would if it happens. I think I’d be okay with it.”

“Well I hope you would because I also realize…I love you.”

“Akira! I love you too! Yes, I think we’ll be alright no matter what.”

NOT SO BERRY CHALLENGE: MINT GENERATION – 1.1 – Start of 1st Generation

Amie Mahoney is the founder of the first generation of my first ever attempt at the Not so Berry challenge originally by lilsimsie and friend alwaysimming and there is a 2.0 version by simqueen8. I will start by following the original story goal ending but I may explore and combine from both versions depending on if it feels appropriate to the story of Amie. And so, it begins…

Amie Mahoney stood in front of her new home thinking about the possiblities that lay ahead. She was on her own as she was her whole life and becoming successful and established with wealth and prestige was important to her. Her only issue was she wasn’t the nicest person at times because she loved causing mischief and had a mean streak. But she had a big goal to achieve by mastering in the scientist career and she has fought to get to where she is so far. A very skilled lab techician in the well-known labatory of SimsLab Inc. She had already started making her way toward becoming a master scientist. Part of the reason she pursued this career was it was one in which she could definetly cause a lot of chaos in the name of science! On top of that she was ambitious and could focus in on a project for a long time which can also come in handy in science when you have to be in the lab sometimes all day. All in all, she thought it was the best path although if she had to pick a backup she would pick a career in engineering (again opportunity for mischief exists). Although in both cases she would have to be careful how far the mischief she deploys in her every day life goes. The question is if she cares enough to not go too far. Who knows what path she will go? Will Amie cause mostly harmless choas or dangerous mayhem?

The first thing Amie did was buy the appliances and furniture she needed to get started in her new home, using all of her savings she had been able to store away from her lab technician job. At the moment, she was renting but there was an option to buy the house if she wanted later. Since she wasn’t sure about this new town yet she had decided to go that way. Although the activities the mountains provided interested her and may help keep her in this town. However, as a focused and ambitious young lab technician trying to break into the scientist career, hobbies outside of science would be few and far between for a long time. She barely had time to socialize since starting the lab tech job as she was putting everything into it. That didn’t mean she would be able to isolate herself from people for too long.

Amie started to settle in nicely in her new home and work was certainly going well. She already had a few breakthroughs while analyzing and experimenting with the lab’s equipment. Breaking into the scientist career path was in her reach and she was aas determined than ever to prove herself. The other thing she enjoyed about work was how friendly her co-workers were and most, so far at least, didn’t mind her mischievous ways. Amie was also trying really hard to be on her best behavior and keep the mean streak that could come out inside. Her co-workers were also very helpful in getting her started with some crystals and metals that on further analysis Amie discovered could be broken apart and formed new elements. She remembered wanting a element collection when she was younger and so she bought a element board to store her growing collection. She had another hobby besides collecting elements she wanted to start soon and that was fishing. So far however, she hadn’t found any good spots to fish in her neighborhood. She might have to travel some to another town to find a good fishing spot. On top of that, she was anxious to try snowboarding up on the mountain.

As far as dating went, that wasn’t a top priority for Amie but she did meet someone on a walk one morning before work. He was from a neighboring town called Windenburg and his name was Akira. He caught her eye as he had that dark haired possibly up for trouble kind of look to him. They stopped and talked for a while about some basic getting to know you things: how they liked their towns, what are the best hangouts in Windeburg if Amie were to visit, and more. Amie had to interrupt the pleasant conversation with Akira as it was getting close to her start time at work and she had to go home and get ready. They said their goodbyes but decided to exchange numbers so they could hang out later. And Amie managed to get together with him once so far and it was another easy going conversation.
