Chapter 1: “The Unknown”
Kaylin Taylor was from a small town where no one appreciated her outgoing spirit. So from the smallness of Willow Creek to the big city of San Myshuno she opened up her mind to a whole new world where she could be herself. Not that she totally knew who that was yet. She was just starting out in life really at age 22 and didn’t have any solid direction yet. (Does anybody at that age?)
Anyway, she found a small decent apartment with a great view and the first night she sat there, contemplating her next move. She loved the idea of being involved in social media but wasn’t quite sure where to start. She decided to do some research on what type of jobs involved social media and stumbled across a local job listing that was literally in the social media career as they described it on their website. Kaylin decided to apply and waited for a response from the hiring manager.
In the meantime she thought it would be a good idea to get to know the neighbors. The first person she met was her neighbor, Penny Pizzazz, who it turned out, was working at the same company in the same area as Kaylin applied to earlier. They found they had a lot in common and became fast friends. While exploring her local hangout spot in the city, she also hit it off with Miko Ojo and Akira Kibo and all four started to hang out over the next few weeks while Kaylin worked hard to start climbing up the ladder in her new career path.

However, Kaylin found she really enjoyed time alone with Akira the most. He always seemed to listen to her without interruption or judgement, and the more time she spent around him, the more she liked him.
He’s sensitive and kind, at least in my eyes, Kaylin thought to herself when she lay in bed at night. Something was holding her back from going for it though. She had no idea what it was. It was just this gnawing feeling that she shouldn’t go any further with Akira but for the life of her, she could not figure out why. As the days went by though she did notice she found less tension when hanging out with Penny than Miko. It was like there was always something unsaid between the two that neither could articulate but both wanted to stay friends so Kaylin and Miko shoved it under the rug for now. In meantime Kaylin’s friendship with Penny grew.
